Materials:

  • Double knitting light worsted yarn in yellow, green, cream and light blue (approx 15 – 25g for each color)
  • Double knitting medium worsted yarn in blue (approx 50g)
  • Small amount of white and black yarn
  • Crochet hooks 3.5mm and 4.00mm
  • Yarn Needle

Abbreviations:

I use US Crochet stitch terminology
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together

Gauge:

Tension is not necessary for this project to be perfect!
22sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10cm (4.00mm hook and medium worsted yarn)

Finished Size:

Tablemat – approx 30 cm x 36 cm

Notes:

I hot glued my appliqués to my tablemat to give it a bit more of a 3D effect. I did not add glue completely to the edges, allowing the appliqués to have a little bit of a lift.

I love to crochet! To design and make patterns for both young and old is an absolute life’s passion. My daughter is my greatest inspiration! I love to try and learn new techniques, and although patience is not my strongest virtue, I have found that committing to a project and having the pleasure of a finished item, is one of life’s greatest and most satisfying pleasures. I believe that anyone can learn a new craft. I try to design and make my projects so that even a novice can do them. “Crochet is an art and crocheters it’s artists. Each crafted item is unique and own to its crafter”
