How much do you love new crochet hooks? Well if you follow along with me then you know I am OBSESSED with trying different types of hooks. When I received the opportunity to try the new Haven For Hands ergonomic crochet hook set, I jumped at the chance! This set comes with 9 ergonomic hooks that have multi-colored handles that are engraved with the hook sizes (US and Metric). The ergonomic handles help you crochet comfortably for hours, which is awesome for someone that has achy hands!
What I really like about this set is that it comes with a carrying case and some notions as well!
Here’s what you get in the set:
- 9 crochet hooks: Sizes B (2mm), C (2.5mm), D(3mm), E (3.5mm), G (4.0mm), 7 (4.5mm), H (5mm), I (5.5mm), and J (6.0 mm)
- Measuring Tape
- Folding Scissors
- Locking stitch markers
- Carrying Case
About the Crochet Hooks:
The hooks are multi-colored to help you distinguish the different hooks. They are also engraved with the hook size in both US and metric sizes. The hooks are metal with a soft grip handle to prevent slipping. The handles are more rounded than their more expensive counterpart, which make them easier to hold but also have indents for you to place your fingers to grip the hooks. I like the metal hooks because they are more sturdy than a plastic hook. I normally don’t use metal hooks without some kind of handle because they tend to hurt my hands so these are a great median.
I did notice that the three smaller hooks are off by .25mm from the standard sizing so make sure to pay attention to hook size that the pattern calls for and look at the millimeters instead of the letter sizing. Since the hooks come in .5mm increments, they would be great to expand on a standard set of hooks. I also noticed that this set does not come with a size F (3.75mm) hook, which I tend to use with thinner yarns like DK or light worsted.
The Case and Notions:
The case is a simple and beautiful canvas cloth case that you can roll up and stash it in your bag. It’s printed with pretty flowers for an added touch.
The case comes with a space for each of the 9 hooks, a flap that covers the heads of the hooks, a nice pocket to store your notions, and an additional outer pocket for stashing other little items or notes.
The notions are great quality. The scissors fold away nicely so that you can travel with them. They are also super sharp and very sturdy for folding scissors. The set also comes with 10 plastic locking stitch markers, which I really love to use with my projects. The measuring tape is a standard small retractable measuring tape which is also great to travel with.
This set has its ups and downs but for the most part, it is a great set to travel with. It’s also a really great set to give to a new crocheter! It has everything they would need to get started. Plus, they are very affordable compared to some of the other pricey options. The best part is, they offer a money back guarantee if you are unhappy with the set AND they will send you a replacement! Talk about great customer service! If you want to try one of these sets for yourself, you can purchase it from Amazon.

I know this is an older review, but I liked it. I’ve gotten my hands on a few inexpensive crochet hook sets over the past couple of years … some were horrible and some were OK, none were “great”, but that’s to be expected when you are buying inexpensive sets. If the investment isn’t much, I can live with the quality not being the best. It’s fun to see what you get … mysteries intrigue me! 🙂
Oh, now that I read your review, I absolutely need this set! So beautiful!
