A few weeks ago, I told you about the grand opening of the Fujifilm Wonder Photo Shop in New York City. It’s super exciting since it’s the very first Fujifilm Wonder Photo Shop in North America! The Fujifilm Wonder Photo Shop is a retail store, a print center, and an interactive workshop. You can shop for the latest Fujifilm cameras and accessories or just stop by to create prints and other products right from your Smartphone The store is absolutely gorgeous. There is so much to do at the Wonder Photo Shop. Besides making prints, you can create your own custom photo projects too!  You can create many projects such as wall decor, puzzles, photo mugs, and more.

I was gifted with this amazing instax® camera from Fujifilm to create a fun DIY project. I have been thinking of putting up a simple wall art project in my office for a while and this was my opportunity to come up with something simple yet creative. I came up with this simple DIY Hanging Photo Wall Art with just a few simple supplies and my Fujifilm instax® camera.

Here is what you will need for this project:

  • Fujifilm instax® camera with film
  • Wooden dowel
  • Approximately 6 ft of cotton yarn or twine
  • Hot glue gun
  • Mini binder clips or mini clothes pins

Here’s what I did:

First, I took six abstract photos of some of my favorite elements in my office. I took some photos of my yarn, crochet hooks, my dress form, books, and a couple of my current projects. With the instax®, all of the photos come out instantly and take just a couple of minutes to develop. Next, I took 2 ft of the cotton yarn and attached each end to the wooden dowel using the hot glue gun. I just dabbed some hot glue on side of the dowel and wrapped one end of the yarn around it about three times. I then dabbed some more glue onto the other end of the dowel and wrapped the other end of yarn around it.

Next, I took another 2 ft of yarn and glued and wrapped it around the dowel. I did the same for the last 2 ft, leaving space in between so that the photos do not touch when they are hung. Lastly, I attached the photos to the hanging yarn string using mini binder clips.

And that’s it! You have a simple DIY Hanging Photo Wall Art project that you can change as much as you want! You can switch out the photos as you see fit, quickly and easily. My daughter has already requested one for her room so that she can display her photos. I think I will add a more rustic feel by staining or painting the wooden dowel and using some jute twine or hemp cord instead of the yarn. I think I will also using some mini wooden clothes pins to tie it all together. The possibilities are endless with this project! If you are in the NYC area, make sure to stop by the Fujifilm Wonder Photo Shop to see all of the fun projects you can create and pick up a Fujifilm instax® of your very own so that you can create this fun DIY project!
