Olivia Bear – Free Crochet Pattern

Welcome to Pattern 8 of the 2018 Softie Crochet Along! Today I have an adorable little ballerina teddy bear. She is sweet in her perfectly pink tutu.  Of course, if you want to make her a him, the pattern is still pretty much the same! Olivia Bear is made with a medium weight cotton yarn and using a size H 5mm crochet hook. She is stuffed with Fairfield Poly-fil Premium Polyester Fiber Fill which was provided by Fairfield World. I really hope you enjoy the pattern! Happy crocheting!

  • Bring the end of the tulle over the elastic and through the middle of the tulle (where you folded it in half.)
  • Pull tight to secure the tulle.
  • Repeat around the elastic. Add more tulle if needed.
  • Trim tulle to make the tutu even.

  • Using yarn tails and yarn needle, position the ears on to each side of the head. Pin in place to help them stay put while you sew them on. Sew each ear on, fasten off, weave ends.
  • Sew the snout on using the yarn tail and yarn needle. Before completing the last stitch, stuff a small amount of stuffing into the snout to give it a more full look. Fasten off, weave ends.

  • Attach the legs to the body using yarn tails and yarn needle. Fasten off, weave all ends.
  • Using grosgrain ribbon, make a bow and sew onto the bear’s head with a needle and thread and dress with the tutu. (optional)
