Back by popular demand, Rhondda and I are hosting the Scarf of the Month Club CAL in 2018. We will each have a new free scarf/cowl/neckwarmer pattern on our blogs each month, for 12 months! Icing on Top Ripple Scarf

Add to Ravelry Queue and Favorites

Materials:

• Approximately 453 yds of Category 3 Fine Yarn; I used Lion Brand Cupcake* yarn in the Tutu Much colorway
• Size I 5.5mm Crochet Hook*
• Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
• Scissors*

Abbreviations:

ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sk – skip
sp – space
st(s) – stitch(es)
t-ch – turning chain
() – indicates stitch counts
[] – indicates instructions to be repeated inside of the brackets
* – indicates instructions to be repeated

Gauge:

16.8 stitches & 6.4 rows = 4″ (in pattern stitch)

Finished Size:

Approximately 5″ wide and 78″ long

Multiple:

10+4

Notes:

• This pattern is written in US terms.
• Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. Gauge is not necessary for this pattern but if you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.

Instructions:

Ch 24
Row 1: 1 dc into the 4th ch from hook (3 skipped chs count as 1 dc), 1 dc into each of the next 3 sts, dc3tog over the next 3 sts, 1 dc into the next 3 sts, 3 dc into the next st, 1 dc into each of the next 3 sts, dc3tog over the next 3 sts, 1 dc into each of the next 3 sts, 2 dc into the last st, turn. (21 sts)
Row 2: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 1 dc into the the first st, 1 dc into each of the next 3 sts, dc3tog over the next 3 sts, 1 dc into the next 3 sts, 3 dc into the next st, 1 dc into each of the next 3 sts, dc3tog over the next 3 sts, 1 dc into each of the next 3 sts, 2 dc into the last st, turn. (21 sts)
Row 3-122: Repeat Row 2

Finish:

• Fasten off, weave all ends.
• To make the fringe, cut 8 pieces of yarn into 16″ lengths.
• Fold the yarn in half. Insert hook into stitch and pull the middle of the yarn through. Pull the ends through the middle to make a knot.
• Repeat for the rest of the fringe.
• Trim the fringe to make it even, if necessary.
