Title: Big Hook Rag Crochet – 25 Quick Stitch Designs to Make Using Leftover Fabric

ISBN: 978-1-4547-0925-1
Big Hook Rag Crochet has 25 of the most wonderful patterns that help you use up leftover fabric and turn it into gorgeous projects for you and your home. I love working with big hooks and chunky yarn but I never imagined using other fabrics to create items other than rugs. That is why I am so in love with this book. There are so many diverse patterns that you can whip up much quicker than with regular yarn. So, when my dear friend Dedri introduced her new book, I had to snag a copy and check out what else I could make with some leftover fabric and my giant hooks!Big Hook Rag Crochet starts out with a gorgeous gallery-style table of contents that displays all 25 of the patterns in the book. The contents are also broken down into two sections: For Your Home and Just For You. Dedri writes a beautiful introduction that describes the idea of the book perfectly. Next, we see a page for the 15 designers featured in the book, which include their names and bios. We finally proceed to the patterns. You can find a full list of all of the patterns in this book on Ravelry, but here are a few of my favorites. It was SO hard to choose just a few to feature but here’s a look at the patterns that caught my eye:
Table Setting by Michelle Stys (p 70):
I love the look of these placemats and coasters. Made with fabric yarn, they are thick, durable, and will save your table!
Stool Cover by Micah York (p 54):
Dress up those plain old stools in your house with a gorgeous custom stool cover that is made to match your home decor!
Snowflake Rug by Helen Glaze (p 29):
A simple but elegant rug made from cream fabric rug. It is perfect for a bedroom or kid’s room!
Owl Doorstop by Nguyen Le (p 66)
This adorable little doorstop is not just cute but also very functional! He would be the perfect little companion in a kid’s room or anywhere else around the house.
There are so many other great projects in Big Hook Rag Crochet and there is something for everyone. If you are new to crochet, no worries! Dedri has written a great section in the back of the book with techniques and full color photos to help you successfully complete the projects in the book.
