Black Cat Tumbler Boot Free Crochet Pattern

It is super quick to make and gives a little Halloween spirit to your on-the-go mug. This boot fits 40oz Stanley tumblers (and other equivalents) as well as the 21oz wide bottom Hydroflask bottles (and other equivalents.) Materials:
- Approximately 40 yds of Category 4 Medium Weight Yarn in 3 Colors:
- Approximately 38 yds of Color A; I used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton* yarn in Black
- Approximately 1 yd of Color B; I used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton* yarn in Pink
- Approximately 2 yd of Color C; I used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton* yarn in White
- Size I 5.5mm Furls Streamline Galaxy Polaris Crochet Hook*
- Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
- Scissors*

sc – single crochet
sk – skip
sl st(s) – slip stitch(es)

Gauge:
16 stitches & 16 rows = 4″ (in sc)
Finished Size:
3″ diameter
Notes:
- This pattern is written in US terms.
- Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. If you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.
Instructions:
With Color A,
Magic Circle, ch 1,
Round 1: Work 6 sc into the magic circle. (6 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc into each st around. (12 sts)
Round 3: Ch 1, *1 sc into the next st, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (18 sts)
Round 4: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (24 sts)
Round 5: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 3 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (30 sts)
Round 6-13: Ch 1, 1 sc into each st around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (30 sts)
Round 14: Ch 1, 1 sc into each st around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st, fasten off. (30 sts)
Ears:
With Color A,
Join into any st with a sl st.
Row 1: Ch 1, 1 sc into each of the next 5 sts, turn. (5 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc dec over the next 2 sts, 1 sc into the next st, 1 sc dec over the last 2 sts, turn. (3 sts)
Row 3: Ch 1, 1 sc into the first st, 1 sc dec over the next 2 sts, turn. (2 sts)
Row 4: Ch 1, 1 sc dec over the next 2 sts, fasten off. (1 st)
Skip 5 sts
Join Color A into the next st with a sl st.
Row 1: Ch 1, 1 sc into each of the next 5 sts, turn. (5 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc dec over the next 2 sts, 1 sc into the next st, 1 sc dec over the last 2 sts, turn. (3 sts)
Row 3: Ch 1, 1 sc into the first st, 1 sc dec over the next 2 sts, turn. (2 sts)
Row 4: Ch 1, 1 sc dec over the next 2 sts. (1 st)
Finish:
- Without fastening off, sc evenly around the entire top of the boot, including the other ear that was previously worked. Join into the beginning sc with an invisible join.
- With Color B and a yarn needle, embroider a small nose onto the front of the boot (between the two ears.) Fasten off. Note: I secured the yarn on the inside, towards the center, and made three passes to make a nice oval shaped nose.
- With Color C and a yarn needle, embroider 3 whiskers onto each side of the nose. Fasten off. Note: I secured the yarn on the inside, right by the side of the nose, and made three strokes, making sure to come back to the nose after each stroke.
- Weave all ends.
