Eventide 12 Inch Square Free Crochet Pattern

I am so excited to be participating in the 2023 Stash-Busting Mystery Crochet Along hosted by The Unraveled Mitten! This year’s CAL includes 20 different 12 inch squares from some amazing crochet designers. You can see more about The Unraveled Mitten’s 2023 Stash-Busting Mystery CAL here. My 12 inch square pattern is quick to work up and has a great texture. I used Red Heart Super Saver O’Go yarn which was great because it has several different yarn colors in one! I opted to just use it continuously but you can separate the colors for a more uniform look. Scroll down to check out the FREE crochet pattern for the Eventide 12 Inch Square. Happy Crocheting!

Heather’s Eventide Square:

I absolutely love how Heather’s square turned out! I love the color combination that she is using for her blanket. You can see all about this square and the 2023 Stash Busting CAL here.

Notes:

  • This pattern is written in US terms.
  • Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. If you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.
  • Chain stitches are counted in the final stitch count at the end of each round.
  • I used a self-striping yarn to create my square and did not make any color changes at the end of each round. If you would like to make color changes at the end of each round, I suggest changing colors in the last yarn over of the last stitch of the round for a smoother transition.
  • In this pattern, I used ch-3 sts to start my rounds of dc. If you are more advanced and would like to use a standing dc (or chainless starting dc), please feel free to start your rounds with that, rather than a ch-3.
