Granny Stripe Dishcloth Free Crochet Pattern with Photo Tutorial
Happy Thursday! Welcome to this week’s Let’s Learn a New Crochet Stitch – Kitchen Crochet Edition event. This week I am going to show you the Granny Stripe stitch pattern and give you the instructions to turn it into an 8″ x 8″ dishcloth, complete with a photo tutorial! Granny Stripe Crochet Dishcloth Pattern and Tutorial

Materials:
- Approximately 34 yds of worsted weight cotton yarn in any two colors of your choosing; I used Lily Sugar ‘n Cream Yarn* in Yellow
- Size I Crochet Hook*
- Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
- Scissors*

dc – double crochet
sk – skip

t-ch – turning chain

3 sts & 1.8 rows = 1″
Finished Size:
8″ x 8″

- This pattern is written in US crochet terms.
- The sizes are an approximation. They will not be exact. Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. Gauge is not necessary for this pattern but if you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.

Photo Tutorial:
Row 1: 2 dc into the 4th ch from hook
Row 1 cont’d: *sk the next 2 sts, 3 dc into the next st**
Row 1 cont’d: Repeat from * to ** across, changing to Color B in the last yarn over of the last st, turn.
Row 2 cont’d: sk the next 3 dc, 3 dc in between the 3-dc clusters from previous row.
Row 1 cont’d: Repeat from * to ** across, work 1 dc into the t-ch, changing to Color A in last yarn over of last st, turn.
Row 3 cont’d: Sk the first dc, 2 dc into the space between the 1-dc and 3-dc cluster from previous row
Row 3 cont’d: *3 dc into the space between the next 3-dc clusters from previous row**
Row 3 cont’d: Repeat from * to ** across
Row 3 cont’d: 3 dc into the space between the last 3-dc cluster and t-ch, changing to Color B on the last yarn over of the last st, turn.
Row 4-13: Repeat Rows 2-3
Row 14: Repeat Row 2, fasten off and weave all ends.
Finish: Sc evenly around the entire square, working 3 sc sts into each corner.

Row 1: 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, *sk 2 sts, 3 dc in the next st** Repeat from * to ** across, turn. (24)
Row 2: Ch 3, *3 dc in between the next 3-dc clusters from previous row** Repeat from * to ** across, 1 dc into the t-ch, turn. (24)
Row 3: Ch 3, 2 dc into the space between the 1-dc and 3-dc cluster from previous row, *3 dc into the space between the next 3-dc clusters from previous row** Repeat from * to ** across, 3 dc into the space between the last 3-dc cluster and t-ch, turn. (24)
Row 4-13: Repeat Rows 2-3
Row 14: Repeat Row 2
Finish:
Sc evenly around the entire square, working 3 sc sts into each corner.
