A Letter to Kaylee, Thanks Baby

Mother’s Day is just around the corner! On Mother’s Day, we take the time to celebrate our moms, aunts, grandmothers, and every other important mom in our lives. However, we sometimes forget the reason why we are mothers…our kids! I am so thankful to be a mom to an amazing little girl. Being Kaylee’s mom is the best thing that has ever happened to me. In honor of Mother’s Day, I want to write a letter to Kaylee to let her know exactly how she makes me feel and to thank her for being in my life.
My Dearest Kaylee,
Words cannot describe what you mean to me. You are everything I have ever wanted and so much more. I can’t remember what life was like before you came into my life. You’ve changed my world. Before you were born, I didn’t know if I would make a good mom. I never really gave it much thought. When I found out that you were going to come into my life, I was nervous. I read every book that I could find and took advice from anyone that would give it. I wanted to make sure that everything would be perfect for your arrival. The moment that you were born and I saw your face for the first time, I knew then and there that I would do anything for you.
Since then, you’ve become my best friend. You’ve taught me so much about life, love, and happiness. You’re the only person that can truly cheer me up when I am sad. You’ve taught me to be brave and strong, and to have courage and faith. Without you, I don’t think I would be the person I am today. You’ve taught me what it means to love someone unconditionally. Even when I’m at my worst, you still love me. You hug me and tell me that you love me when I roll out of bed with bad hair and morning breath and you tell me how pretty I am when I dress up. No matter what, you’re always there with your huge smile, making me feel loved.
We spend our days learning, playing, and having fun, and we always manage to get in a selfie or two. We’ve watched Frozen together 5 billion times until we were both sick of it. We’ve sang many duets of “Let It Go.” We’ve had numerous tea parties and built skyscrapers out of blocks. We’ve spent every moment of every day together and I wouldn’t change a minute of it, not for anything in the world.
Thank you my sweet, sweet baby girl. Thank you for letting me teach you and thank you for teaching me in return. Thank you for your heartwarming smiles and your super amazing hugs. Thank you for being everything you are, and loving me even if I don’t measure up. Thank you for the laughs and the good times that we’ve had so far and for ones that are yet to be had. Thank you for the memories that we’ve made and for the ones to come.Thank you for being my child and thank you for making me a mom. Thank you for being you and for being mine.
Love,
Your Mommy <3
