My pattern contribution is a quick and easy flower pot cozy. It is perfect for dressing up any old flower pots and adding a little pizzazz to your plants. Simple Flower Pot Cozy

Materials:

• Approximately 80 yds of Category 6 Super Bulky Yarn in 2 colors:
  • Approximately 53 yds of Color A; I used Mixtape Yarn by Wool and the Gang in the Sahara Dust colorway
  • Approximately 27 yds of Color B; I used Jersey Be Good by Wool and the Gang in the Jog Grey colorway
• Size N 9mm Crochet Hook*
• Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
• Scissors*

Abbreviations:

ch – chain
hdc – half double crochet
sc – single crochet
sk – skip
sl st – slip stitch
sp – space
st(s) – stitch(es)
() – indicates stitch counts
* – indicates instructions to be repeated

Gauge:

8 stitches & 5.6 rows = 4″ (in hdc)

Finished Size:

Approximately 5″ in diameter and 5″ tall

• This project is worked in the round and joined after each round.

Instructions:

With Color A,
Magic circle, ch 1
Round 1: 6 sc into the magic circle, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (6 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc into each st around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (12 sts)
Round 3: Ch 1, *1 sc into the next st, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (18 sts)
Round 4: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (24 sts)
Round 5: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 3 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (30 sts)
Round 6: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 4 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (36 sts)
Round 7: Ch 1, 1 hdc into the back loop of each st around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (36 sts)
Round 8: Ch 1, 1 hdc into each st around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (36 sts)
Round 9-10: Ch 1, 1 hdc into the first st, *sk the next st, 1 hdc into the next st, 1 hdc into the skipped st (around the previous st); Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st.  (36 sts)
Change to Color B
Round 11: Ch 1, 1 hdc into each st around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (36 sts)
Round 12-13: Ch 1, 1 hdc into the first st, *sk the next st, 1 hdc into the next st, 1 hdc into the skipped st (around the previous st); Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st.  (36 sts)

Finish:

• Fasten off.
• Weave all ends.
