Simple Ribbed Earwarmer Free Crochet Pattern

Materials:
- Approximately 65-75 yds of Category 4 Medium Weight Yarn; I used Furls Wander* yarn (for this project I used the Laguna colorway)
- Size I 5.5mm Furls Streamline Crochet Hook*
- Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
- Scissors*

Abbreviations:
BPhdc – back post half double crochet
ch – chain
FPhdc – front post half double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
st(s) – stitch(es)
() – indicates stitch counts
* – indicates instructions to be repeated
Gauge:
19.2 stitches & 11.6 rows = 4″ (in pattern st)
Finished SizeS:
- Teen – Fits 21″ head size
- Adult Small – Fits 22″ head size
- Adult Medium – Fits 23″ head size
- Adult Large – Fits 24″ head size
Notes:
- This pattern is written in US terms.
- Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. If you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.
- This pattern is worked flat and seamed at the ends to create the headband/earwarmer. (See finishing instructions below for seaming information.)

Teen:
Ch 13
Row 1: Work 1 hdc into the 2nd ch from hook, work 1 hdc into each remaining st across, turn. (12 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, work 1 hdc into the first st, *1 FPhdc around the post of the next st, 1 BPhdc around the post of the next st; Repeat from * across until there is 1 st remaining, 1 hdc into the last st, turn. (12 sts)
Rows 3-57: Repeat Row 2
Row 58: Repeat Row 2, leave a 12″ long tail for sewing. (See finishing instructions below.)
Adult Small:
Ch 13

Finish:
- Lay your headband flat. Bring the ends together so that they meet in the middle.
- Fold each end in half lengthwise and pinch them at the ends.
- Place the two folded ends together, sandwiching them together and making sure the stitches are aligned.
- Using the yarn tail and yarn needle, stitch the ends together, making sure to work through all four pieces of the fabric.
- Fasten off, weave all ends.
- Turn the headband inside out so that the knot is on the inside.
