Summer Vacay Sunglass Pouch

Materials:
- Approximately 65 yds of Category 4 Medium Weight Yarn; I used Knit Picks Dishie* yarn in the Conch colorway
- Size I 5.5mm Furls Cancer Streamline Zodiac Crochet Hook*
- Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
- Scissors*

Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
sl st(s) – slip stitch(es)
st(s) – stitch(es)
() – indicates stitch counts
* – indicates instructions to be repeated
Gauge:
12.4 stitches & 11.6 rows = 4″ (in pattern st)
Finished Size:
Approximately 3.5″ x 7″
Multiple:
Ch a multiple of 2+1
Notes:
- This pattern is written in US terms.
- Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. If you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.
- This project is worked flat and then seamed at the sides to create a pouch.
Instructions:
Leaving a 12″ long tail,
Ch 23
Row 1: 1 sc into the 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc into the next st, *1 sc into the next st, 1 dc into the next st; Repeat from * across, turn. (22 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc into the first st, 1 dc into the next st, *1 sc into the next st, 1 dc into the next st; Repeat from * across, turn. (22 sts)
Rows 3-19: Repeat Row 2
Row 20: Repeat Row 2, fasten off, leave a 12″ long tail for sewing. (22 sts)
Finish:
- Join yarn using sl st into the 11th from the end and ch 12, sl st into the same st, fasten off. This is the loop closure for your pouch.
- Fold the pouch in half so that the bottom row meets the top row.
- Using the yarn tail and a yarn needle, whip stitch down the side to close the side of the pouch, fasten off.
- Repeat with the other side using the yarn tail and yarn needle.
- Align your button in the center of the pouch and with the loop closure. Sew your button onto the front side of the pouch with your yarn and yarn needle. Fasten off.
- Weave all ends.
