Dusty Rose Sack Hat – Free Crochet Pattern in Several Sizes

A few weeks ago I got my hands on some gorgeous Caron Baby Cakes at Michaels. My Michaels store was cleaned out. They only had a few colorways of the Baby Cakes and one colorway of the Caron Cotton Cakes. I scooped some up and came home but didn’t know what to make. I thought that the Baby Cakes would make an adorable hat so I went to work and came up with this adorable Dusty Rose Sack Hat. It is made using a little less than half of a cake. This pattern is available in 5 different sizes. I hope you enjoy the pattern! Happy Crocheting!

UPDATE: I have updated the pattern to include the instructions for a preemie sized hat as well as sizes 1-3 Years and 3-5 Years!

I’m working on this hat right now and I’ve finished the ribbing. The directions aren’t clear when beginning to work in the round. It says one slip stitch to join, so am I just to assume I stitch the side up Of the ribbing before contributing the next part if the hat? I’ve read through it several times but feel like there is a step missing from the ribbing the the rest of the hat. Thank you for the free pattern !

Hi Jana! Sorry for the delay. The ribbing can be sewn before you start the main part of the hat or after you finish everything and are ready to sew up the top and weave the ends in. I have updated the pattern to reflect these instructions.
