Stitching With Jane Foster

If you have ever wanted to try your hand at sewing and cross-stitching, Stitching With Jane Foster has a ton of information and great full-color photos to help you learn basic stitches.

Jane begins the book with a list of the tools and materials you will need to start stitching. The list is quite short since you will only need a few basic tools to get started. She then discusses how to get started with a tutorial on how to thread a needle and how to knot the ends. After you have your needle threaded, Jane shares basic stitch tutorials complete with large, clear, color photos. Before we get to the press-out cards, Jane shows you all of the different things you can do with your completed designs. There are some really fun ideas in this section that are great motivation for getting started!

For me, the press-out cards are the highlight of the book. There are so many fabulous designs in here that are just so gorgeous and inspiring. You can really sit and practice stitching for hours! There are 37 press-out cards in all shapes and sizes. There are geometric shapes, animals, flowers, and more. There are even full scenes that you create and display as artwork in your home!
