Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share my pattern for the 2020 Softie CAL! If you have not heard of the CAL Central Softie CAL, you can find more information in the Introduction Post by Marie from Underground Crafter. There will be 10 awesome softie (stuffed animals, pillows, etc.) patterns for you as well as an end of CAL Giveaway that you can find here. My pattern contribution is an adorable request from my daughter. She wanted a flamingo! When she was in school, the class had a stuffed “pet” flamingo named Bob. Kaylee adored Bob and was missing him very much. So I decided to make her a pet flamingo of her own to ease her heartache. It took a lot of frogging but I absolutely love how it turned out. Scroll down to check out the FREE crochet pattern for Felicity the Flamingo. I hope you enjoy it! Happy Crocheting!

This post contains affiliate links. I do receive a commission if you make a purchase through my link(s), which helps support my blog and allows me to bring you more great posts! I have been provided complimentary materials from Fairfield World to be used in my design.

  • Place a small amount of stuffing into the beak. Position the beak between the eyes and sew onto the head using the yarn tail from the beak and a yarn needle. Fasten off, weave ends.
  • Position the first wing onto the side of the body so that the “pointy end” faces the back. Using yarn tail and needle attach the wing at the front only so that the back of the wing can be free to move. Fasten off and weave ends. Repeat with the other wing.
  • Place a small amount of stuffing into the tail. Position the tail onto the back of the body and attach using the yarn tail from the tail and a yarn needle. Fasten off, weave ends.
  • Position the first leg onto the bottom of the body and attach using the yarn tail from the leg and a yarn needle. Fasten off and weave all ends. Repeat with the other leg.
  • To add a tuft of hair to the top of your flamingo’s head, cut 4 strands of yarn approximately 4″ long. Insert crochet hook at the top of the head (through the first round of sts,) fold the yarn strands in half, place the folded yarn around the hook and pull through the top of the head. Knot the strands and trim to desired size.
