The book starts off with information about tools and equipment and how hold the crochet hook and yarn. Then it moves on to showing the steps of basic stitches like the single crochet and double crochet, as well as a few other commonly used stitches. There is also information on gauge, increasing and decreasing, abbreviations, terms, and a stitch diagram key. After all of the great, useful information for beginners, the book then moves on to basic stitch patterns that are easy for a new crocheter to start off with.
After going through many detailed stitch patterns, there are instructions for different squares and motifs which are great for making afghans and doilies.
Finally, there is a section for edgings and trims to help you complete your projects. There are a ton of unique trims and edgings that range from simple to extravagant.
If you are more of a knitter, then you will love 750 Knitting Stitches – The Ultimate Knit Stitch Bible.

There is also information on increasing and decreasing as well as how to add edgings and change colors. The book starts off with basic stitch patterns that are easy for new knitters to follow along with. It then progresses to more intricate stitches. There is a section on cables and aran stitches, lace and eyelet stitches, colorwork stitches, and finally edgings and trims.
