- Approximately 53 yds of Category 4 Medium Weight Yarn in 2 colors:
- Approximately 23 yds of Color A; I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran* yarn in 610 Soft Fudge
- Approximately 30 yds of Color B; I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran* yarn in 601 Paper White
- Size H 5 mm Furls Streamline Crochet Hook*
- Yarn Needle* for sewing and weaving ends

With Color A:
Magic Circle, ch 1
Round 1: Work 4 sc into the magic circle, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (4 sts)
Round 2: *2 sc into the next st, 1 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around. (6 sts)
Round 3: 1 sc into each st around. (6 sts)
Round 4: *2 sc into the next st, 1 sc into each of the next 2 sts; Repeat from * around. (8 sts)
Round 5: 1 sc into each st around. (8 sts)
Round 6: *2 sc into the next st, 1 sc into each of the next 3 sts; Repeat from * around. (10 sts)
Round 7: 1 sc into each st around. (10 sts)
Round 8: *2 sc into the next st, 1 sc into each of the next 4 sts; Repeat from * around. (12 sts)
Round 9: 1 sc into each st around. (12 sts)

With Color B,
Magic Circle, ch 1
Round 1: Work 6 sc into the magic circle, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (6 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc into each st around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (12 sts)
Round 3: Ch 1, *1 sc into the next st, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (18 sts)
Round 4: Ch 1, *2 sc into the next st, 1 sc into each of the next 2 sts; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (24 sts)
Round 5: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 3 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (30 sts)
Round 6: Ch 1, *2 sc into the next st, 1 sc into each of the next 4 sts; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (36 sts)
Round 7: Ch 1, 1 sc into each st around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (36 sts)
Rounds 8-13: Repeat Round 7
Round 14: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 4 sts, 1 sc dec over the next 2 sts; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (30 sts)
Round 15: Ch 1, sk the first st, 5 dc into the next st, *sk the next st, sl st into the next st, sk the next st, 5 dc into the next st; Repeat from * around until there are 2 sts remaining, sk the next st, sl st into the last st, fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing. (30 sts)
Finish:
- Begin stuffing the cone, making sure to get the stuffing down into the point (I use a chopstick or wooden dowel for this) and fill stuffing until it reaches the top of the cone.
- Add stuffing to the ice cream top until it is firmly stuffed.
- Place the cone into the top (I turned the top upside down and put the cone into the center.)
- Using the yarn tail and yarn needle, whip stitch the cone to the top, making sure to keep the stuffing tucked in and making sure to go through both the cone and the ice cream.
- Weave all ends.
- Optional: Embroider the ice cream top with “sprinkles” for a fun topping! Using your embroidery floss and embroidery needle, make long lines going in different directions around the ice cream top to make it look “sprinkled.”
- Have fun and create different “flavors” using different colors of yarn!
