Palm Tree Applique – Free Pattern
I have been experimenting with some applique designs lately and I just got a request from a friend to design a palm tree applique. I was so excited because even though it’s a simple pattern, it was something different for me to try. It’s a great summer/ beach themed applique for a hat, blanket or anything else you might want to put it on. The pattern works up super quickly. It took me about 15 minutes in total. Happy Crocheting!

I like your pattern too! I did modify it for my own project but I used your basic concept. I needed it shorter to fit on my project so I only did half of the trunk but kept the full Fronds. I like it! It makes the palm look fuller this way too. Plus I attached the Fronds to the trunk as I went along. I just used my last row of the trunk as the centre of the Fronds where you slip stitch in the ring. Turned out great! The reason I did it that way is because I hate sewing. So the more I can attach by crocheting the better I feel about it. Lol
I really like a lot!!!Thank you for the pattern.
One question, what’s tr in the palm fronts??? I’m learningThanks!!!
Thank you Pilar! tr is treble crochet
I really like this. Fun and creative.
I love palm trees!!! Thanks for the pattern.
You’re welcome Mindi!
what does the number () mean at the end of each line.
example:
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (4)
Hi Jamie. The number listed in the parenthesis is the stitch count for each row. It tells you how many stitches you should have at the end of each row.
This pattern is very pretty. Love how the colors each other.
Thank you Patrica!!
