Materials:

• Approximately 119 yds of a Category 4 Medium Weight Yarn; I used Lion Brand Made With Love* in the Primrose Hill colorway
• Size I 5.5mm Furls Streamline Crochet Hook*
• Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
• Scissors*

Skill Level:

Easy

Abbreviations:

ch(s) – chain(s)
dc – double crochet
sk – skip
st(s) – stitch(es)
() – indicates stitch counts
* – indicates instructions to be repeated

Gauge:

13.2 stitches & 7.2 rows = 4″ (in pattern st)

Finished Size:

Approximately 6″ wide and 25″ long, before seaming

Notes:

• This pattern is written in US terms.
• Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. Gauge is not necessary for this pattern but if you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.
• This pattern is worked flat and then seamed at the ends to create a cowl.

Multiple:

Chain an odd number of sts, plus 3 for the foundation chain

Instructions:

Ch 22
Row 1: 1 dc into the 4th ch from the hook (count as 1 dc), 1 dc into each of the remaining sts across, turn. (20 sts)
Row 2: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), *sk the next st, 1 dc into the next st, 1 dc into the previously skipped st; Repeat from * across until there is 1 st remaining, 1 dc into the last st, turn. (20 sts)
Row 3: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 1 dc into each st across, turn. (20 sts)
Rows 4-43: Repeat Rows 2-3
Row 44: Repeat Row 2

Finish:

• Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing.
• Bring both ends of the cowl together so that the beginning row meets the end row.
• Using the yarn tail and a yarn needle, whip stitch the ends together.
• Weave all ends.
