This pattern is extremely versatile and can be used for many different things around your home from plant pots to jars, to candles (but I do recommend not using them near an open flame!) Materials:
- Approximately 58 yds of Category 4 Medium Weight Yarn; I used Furls Wander* yarn (for this project I used the Alabaster, Velvet and Agave colorways)
- Size H 5mm Furls Streamline Zodiac Gemini Pollux Crochet Hook*
- Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
- Scissors*

Abbreviations:
BPhdc – back post half double crochet
ch – chain
FPhdc – front post half double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
sc – single crochet
st(s) – stitch(es)
() – indicates stitch counts
* – indicates instructions to be repeated
Gauge:
16 stitches & 16 rows = 4″ (in pattern st)
Finished Size:
- 4″ diameter, 3.5″ tall
Notes:
- This pattern is written in US terms.
- Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. If you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.
- This pattern is worked in the round and joined after each round.
- To make this pattern fit a wider jar, continue increasing after Round 8 to the desired diameter. To make it taller, increase the number of rounds past Round 19 and finish off with a round of single crochet stitches.

Instructions:
Magic circle, ch 1
Round 1: 6 sc into the magic circle, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (6 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc into each st around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (12 sts)
Round 3: Ch 1, *1 sc into the next st, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (18 sts)
Round 4: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (24 sts)
Round 5: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 3 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (30 sts)
Round 6: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 4 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (36 sts)
Round 7: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 5 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (42 sts)
Round 8: Ch 1, *1 sc into each of the next 6 sts, 2 sc into the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning sc with a sl st. (48 sts)
Round 9: Ch 1, 1 hdc into each st around, join into the beginning hdc with a sl st. (48 sts)
Round 10: Ch 1, 1 *FPhdc around the post of the next st, 1 BPhdc around the post of the next st; Repeat from * around, join into the beginning FPhdc with a sl st. (48 sts)
Rounds 11-19: Repeat Round 10
Round 20: Ch 1, 1 sc into each st around, join into the beginning sc with an invisible join, fasten off. (48 sts)
Finish:
- Weave all ends.
