I am so excited to share my new scarf pattern with you. My pattern contribution is a soft and sweet scarf made with Caron Chunky Cakes. This scarf is chunky and perfect for cooler weather! Back by popular demand, Rhondda and I are hosting the Scarf of the Month Club CAL in 2018. We will each have a new free scarf/cowl/neckwarmer pattern on our blogs each month, for 12 months! Berry Sorbet Scarf

Add to Ravelry Queue and Favorites

Materials:

• Approximately 230 yds of Category 6 Super Bulky Yarn; I used Caron Chunky Cakes* in the Ballet Sorbet Colorway
• Size L 7mm Crochet Hook*
• Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
• Scissors*

Abbreviations:

ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sk – skip
st(s) – stitch(es)
sp(s) – space(s)
t-ch – turning chain
() – indicates stitch counts
[] – indicates instructions to be repeated inside of the brackets
* – indicates instructions to be repeated

Gauge:

11.6 stitches & 5.2 rows = 4″ (in pattern stitch)

Finished Size:

Approximately 7″ wide and 58″ long

Multiple:

6+4

Special Stitches:

V Stitch (v-st): [1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc] into the designated stitch.

Notes:

• This pattern is written in US terms.
• Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. Gauge is not necessary for this pattern but if you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.

Instructions:

Ch 22
Row 1: 1 v-st into the 5th ch from hook, *sk the next 2 sts, 3 dc into the next st, sk the next 2 sts, 1 v-st into the next st; Repeat from * across until there are 2 sts remaining, sk 1 sts, 1 dc into the last st, turn. (20 sts)
Row 2: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), sk the first st, *3 dc into the 2nd dc of the next 3dc group, 1 v-st into the next ch-1 sp; Repeat from * across, 1 dc into the t-ch, turn. (20 sts)
Row 3: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), *1 v-st into the next ch-1 sp, 3 dc into the 2nd dc of the next 3dc group; Repeat from * across, 1 dc into the t-ch, turn. (20 sts)
Row 4-77: Repeat Rows 2-3
Row 78: Repeat Row 2, fasten off.

Finish:

• Weave all ends.
• You can use the leftover yarn from the cake to add a fringe if desired.
