Materials:

• Approximately 321 yds of a Category 4 Medium Weight Yarn; I used Caron Cinnamon Swirl Cakes* yarn in the Chocolate Swirl colorway
• Size H 5mm Furls Streamline Crochet Hook*
• Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
• Scissors*

Skill Level:

Intermediate

Abbreviations:

ch – chain
hdc – half double crochet
sc – single crochet
sk – skip
sl st – slip stitch
sp – space
st(s) – stitch(es)
() – indicates stitch counts
* – indicates instructions to be repeated

Gauge:

14 stitches & 7.6 rows = 4″ (in pattern st)

Finished Size:

Approximately 5.5″ wide and 52.5″ long

Notes:

• This pattern is written in US terms.
• Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. Gauge is not necessary for this pattern but if you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.

Multiple:

Ch any number of stitches

Special Stitches:

Forked Half Double Crochet (forked hdc) 

• Yarn over, insert hook into designated stitch
• Yarn over, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook)
• Yarn over, insert hook into next st
• Yarn over, pull up a loop (5 loops on hook)
• Yarn over, pull through 3 loops
• Yarn over, pull through remaining 3 loops

Instructions:

Ch 21
Row 1: Work 1 forked hdc into the 3rd & 4th ch from hook, *work 1 forked hdc into the same st as previous forked hdc and the next st; Repeat from * across until there is one st remaining, 1 dc into the last st, turn. (19 sts)
Row 2: Ch 3, work 1 forked hdc into the top of the dc from previous row and into the next st, *work 1 forked hdc into the same st as previous forked hdc and into the next st; Repeat from * across, 1 dc into the turning ch, turn. (19 sts)
Rows 3-100: Repeat Row 2

Finish:

• Fasten off, weave all ends.
