Melissa Leapman’s Indispensable Stitch Collection for Crocheters, published by Creative Publishing International, is a wonderful crochet stitch dictionary with 200 of Melissa Leapman’s favorite crochet stitch patterns! This book contains many of Melissa Leapman’s own designs as well as other stitch patterns tath she has perfected with many years of experience in the crochet industry. 

Indispensable Stitch Collection for Crocheters has full color photos for each stitch pattern. Each stitch pattern has clear, concise, easy-to-read written instructions as well as stitch diagrams, which are written in international crochet symbols. There are tips and tricks on how to read the stitch diagrams on page 161. This is very helpful for beginners and those that are still learning how to use stitch diagrams. On page 160, you will find a list of all of the international crochet symbols.

Each stitch pattern contains the stitch multiple, which is explained in full detail in the beginning of the book. If you are a beginner and need help with the basics, there is a section at the end of the book with different crochet techniques to help you get started. Each of the basic stitches comes with detailed written instructions as well as an illustration to demonstrate the stitch.
