Materials:

• Approximately 84-151 yds of Category 4 Medium Weight Cotton Yarn; I used Knit Picks Dishie* yarn in the Jalapeno colorway
• Size I 5.5mm Furls Streamline Metal Crochet Hook*
• Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
• Scissors*

Abbreviations:

ch(s) – chain(s)
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
st(s) – stitch(es)
() – indicates stitch counts
[] – indicates instructions to be worked into one stitch
* – indicates instructions to be repeated

Gauge:

15.2 stitches & 8.4 rows = 4″ (in pattern stitch)

Finished Size:

Approximately 9″ x 9″

Notes:

• This pattern is written in US terms.
• Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet. If you would like to keep the sizing the same, please check your gauge before starting this project.

9″ Dishcloth
Ch 36
Row 1: Work 1 dc into the 4th ch from hook (count as 1 dc), work 1 dc into each st across, turn. (34 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, work [1, sc, 2 dc] into the first st, *sk the next 2 sts, work [1 sc, 2 dc] into the next st; Repeat from * across until there are 3 sts remaining, sk the next 2 sts, work 1 sc into the turning ch, turn. (34 sts)
Row 3: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), work 1 dc into each st across, turn. (34 sts)
Rows 4-17: Repeat Rows 2-3
Row 18: Repeat Row 2
Row 19: Repeat Row 3, fasten off, weave all ends.

12″ Dishcloth:
Ch 48
Row 1: Work 1 dc into the 4th ch from hook (count as 1 dc), work 1 dc into each st across, turn. (46 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, work [1, sc, 2 dc] into the first st, *sk the next 2 sts, work [1 sc, 2 dc] into the next st; Repeat from * across until there are 3 sts remaining, sk the next 2 sts, work 1 sc into the turning ch, turn. (46 sts)
Row 3: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), work 1 dc into each st across, turn. (46 sts)
Rows 4-11: Repeat Rows 2-3
Row 22: Repeat Row 2
Row 23: Repeat Row 3, fasten off, weave all ends.

Finish (optional):

• You can add a simple border by joining your yarn with a sl st into one of the stitches, sc evenly around placing 3 sc sts in each corner, join in beginning sc with an invisible join. Fasten off, weave ends.
