Materials:

  • Hook 3.50 mm
  • Small amounts of 100% cotton yarn in cream, purple, blue and pink or colors of own choice
  • Scissors & Yarn Needle
  • Small baby food jars or any jar! – I used Purity Baby Food Jars.

Abbreviations:

SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet
Special Stitch – 3TR Cluster:
Wrap yarn around hook 2 times before beginning the stitch, insert hook in stitch, pull a loop through, wrap yarn over hook and draw through two loops, (there are now three loops remaining on the hook), yarn over hook and draw through two loops (leave remaining loop of the treble on the hook, which makes a total of two loops on the hook).
Working in the same stitch, make a second treble (leave the last loop of this treble on the hook also). At this point, there are 3 loops on the hook.
Working in the same stitch, make a third treble (leave the last loop of this treble on the hook also).
Wrap yarn over the hook and pull a loop through the 4 remaining loops on the hook all at once. This completes the cluster.

Gauge:

22 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches (10 cm x 10 cm)

Finished Size:

Dependant on jar

Notes:

This pattern is worked in multiples of 2 + 1
Measure your jar and work up a foundation chain to reach all around the jar.
Foundation chain needs to be multiplied by 2 + 1

Happy Hooking 🙂

I love to crochet! To design and make patterns for both young and old is an absolute life’s passion. My daughter is my greatest inspiration! I love to try and learn new techniques, and although patience is not my strongest virtue, I have found that committing to a project and having the pleasure of a finished item, is one of life’s greatest and most satisfying pleasures. I believe that anyone can learn a new craft. I try to design and make my projects so that even a novice can do them. “Crochet is an art and crocheters it’s artists. Each crafted item is unique and own to its crafter”
