Take Blogging to the Next Level with CoSchedule
I have been searching for new ways to keep my blog posts organized. I have my blog planner but wanted something more. In my search for an editorial calendar, a blogger friend told me about CoSchedule. I didn’t know anything about it but decided to check it out. She said that she loved it and it was working well for her so I figured why not give it  a shot? I signed up for the free trial and got way more than I expected. It has changed the way that I blog and has made my life so much easier. I have to say that I am officially hooked. Let me show you why:

That’s right…you can write your posts, organize them, and create your social media posts and schedule them all in the same place! Gone are the times where you write your post and then go through six different social media sites to promote your post. With CoSchedule, you can do it all in one place. CoSchedule is the best thing that could have happened to me in my blogging career. I was basically struggling with promoting my posts and organizing them. I felt overwhelmed and unorganized. With CoSchedule, I feel like I am back in control and I have the tools to get myself back on track.

Here’s how it works:

Once you’ve installed the CoSchedule plugin on WordPress and have logged in, you’ll see your editorial calendar. To create a new blog post or schedule a social media post, click on the little pen icon on the upper right-hand corner of on of the date boxes. A message will pop up asking if you want to create a new blog post or new social media message. Choose which one you would like to create.

Now you will see all of the options for your post. Once you’ve entered your post title, scheduled the date and time for your post, selected your categories, and chosen your author (if you have more than one person contributing to the blog), go ahead and add your post to the calendar.

Before your can add your social media messages, you have to first add your accounts to CoSchedule. Navigate to the Settings tab at the top of your screen. On the left, click on Social Profiles. Connect all of your profiles that you wish to create messages for. You will only have to connect them once. Once they are set up, you will be able to schedule messages without having to reconnect the accounts. (Note that some accounts require the use of Buffer. If you don’t have a Buffer account, it’s free to sign up.)

Once you’ve connected all of your accounts, go back to your calendar to schedule your social media messages. Click on the the little pen icon once again and this time select “New Social Message.” It will now bring up the box to create your message(s). Click on the “Select a Social Network” drop down menu to choose which profiles you will be scheduling your message for. Create your post in the box labeled “Your Status Update.” Choose whether you want it to be displayed as a text post, link post, or image post. Set your time and date and add the post to your calendar.

If at any point you need to change the date that your post is scheduled, just drag and drop the post to a new date! It’s that simple. This is just a basic run-through of how to use CoSchedule. There are so many other features to play around with. There’s even a feature to create your social media messages at the bottom of your regular post if you’re not using the calendar.

I hope that I have encouraged you to give CoSchedule a try. It’s really a great tool that saves time and is worth it’s weight in gold. If you’re still not sure, try it yourself for free! If you’re not satisfied at the end of your trial, then there is no obligation to upgrade but I bet you will! I was sucked in the first day that I used it. The part that really got me was that the customer service is amazing! Garrett makes sure that you are getting the full experience and even helps with technical issues. Don’t take my word for it. Try CoSchedule for yourself and let me know what you think!
