When I first started crocheting, I was always intrigued by what goes into designing your own crochet projects and having them customized to meet my needs. With Design Your Own Crochet Projects by Sara Delaney, you can learn how to create hats, scarves, gloves, and more with a few magical formulas and fill-in-the-blank templates! The techniques that you will learn in this book help take the guess work out of getting the right fit for your project.

Sara Delaney goes into great detail to help you create your own custom projects with a few tips, tricks and formulas. The book begins with information on why we need crochet patterns and why they are important. Next, Sara dives into the world of yarn, discussing fiber, weight, and more. She then goes on to discuss swatching (which is super important!) before getting into the designs.

There are 18 patterns in Design Your Own Crochet Projects that Sara has created. She provides the formulas and pattern template so that you can create each of these designs to custom fit your needs. Sara goes into great detail providing you all of the information you will need for your project, which usually takes designers years to learn and perfect! All it takes is a little math to get you started. If you aren’t so great at math, there is this AMAZING online crochet calculator to help you along. You can check that out >HERE< There is a calculator for each type of project (hats, gloves, scarves, etc.)

Each project in Design Your Own Crochet Projects contains basic information about creating the project, standard size and yarn yardage information, the formula calculator, pattern template, basic information for your swatch, pattern instructions with abbreviations list, and even charts when needed. All of the patterns include a full color photo as well. At the end of the book, there is a fabulous stitch dictionary and a stitch guide with full color photo tutorials!

For those that steal or copy patterns and make claims I wish they would understand what they are doing is so wrong and hurtful, not only a personal attack but also in many cases they are down right stealing someones lively hood .
