I have a lot of leftover cotton yarn and these patterns are just right for me. I also do not block my crochet cotton washcloths. Thanks to young people like you we older ones can still crochet something easy. Please continue in your endeavor!

Hi Barbara! There are two different patterns in this post 🙂 For the first one, you have to chain a larger multiple of 2 and add one for the foundation chain. For the second one, it’s just a larger multiple of 2.

    Hi!
I, too, like all the others who commented, love these beautiful dishcloths/washcloths. I think I will be making them for a baby – friend has a neighbour who is having a baby in September – I’ve crocheted bib, burp cloth & thinking of using your patterns for the facecloths – just so love the designs – so beautiful! I, too was having problem, same as Anna. I will redo 3rd row & hopefully I do it right this time. You answer questions very quickly & that is another reason I love your site. A lot of times if I have a problem I write the designer but don’t get an answer back – I try to avoid their sites later. Tk u so much for sharing your talent & patterns They are truly great! Your work always looks so wonderful as do your pics. Tk u again!

That sounds so wonderful Helen! I hope the new mom loves the items that you made for her 🙂 Thank you for all of your kid words! I do try to help as much as I can, even if I can’t answer right away, I always try to answer at some point 🙂 Take care! Let me know if you have any questions!

What do you charge for your washcloths if you would sell them?

Hi Emily! It’s hard to say. What I used to do, when I sold finished items, was calculate the cost of my materials, packing and shipping costs, and determined how much I would charge for labor (how much I would pay myself for my time per hour) and then multiply that by 2 to get the price. I don’t know if that makes sense but I got the idea from this Etsy article: https://blog.etsy.com/en/2012/a-simple-formula-for-pricing-your-work/ Hope that helps!

I am having a small problem going from row 2 to 3 and the end of 2 I have 38 stitches I start with row 3 get to the end and have 1 stitch and can’t skip to do the last SC what am I doing wrong?

Is this for the grit stitch washcloth? Are you skipping over the first sc in the row? You should be working a sc in the same st that the ch 1 is coming out of. I hope that helps!

      March 28, 2015 at 12:21 AM

I did the same thing after crocheting about half before I realized I was losing stitches. You do skip the last stitch and sc in your turning chain from the beginning of the previous row. Hope this helps.
