As you may already know, Rhondda started the CAL off with her first post using worsted weight yarn. For this CAL, I am using DK yarn in the form of Knit Picks Gloss DK* and a Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook*. If you have chosen to make the Poncho using Worsted Weight yarn please see Option 1 below. The totals indicated at the end of each row are the number of stitches for the row in this format (Option 1 Stitch Count, Option 2 Stitch Count). If you are using DK weight yarn, you will be following along with me and the Option 2 Stitch Counts.

Hi,
I’ve been searching the web for homemade Christmas gifts. I love the poncho and have decided to make two for my granddaughters. I’ve read the introduction section as well as the various parts. I need measurement info for Child size 10 and Youth size 12 and any other measurement info you can provide. For instance, what’s the length for each completed section for these sizes. I have the overall width and length of the rectangle as well starting chain stitches. I plan to use WW yarn. Will it make a difference if I use 6.5 mm hook rather than a 6.0mm one? Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Hi Christine! You can find all of the available sizes and the worsted weight instructions here: http://oombawkadesigncrochet.com/2015/07/crochet-with-us-fall-poncho-cal-introduction-post.html If you use a 6.5mm hook, you will have to recalculate the starting chain and amount of rows as your gauge will change. Hope that helps!
I love this. Very pretty. 🙂
Thank you Natasha!
I love this – I think I will join.
