Welcome to Part 3 of the Wonder Crochet Blanket CAL!

Wonder Crochet Blanket CAL Part 3
Materials:
- Category 4 worsted weight yarn in 2 colors:
- Color A: I used Lion Brand Heartland in Glacier Bay*
- Color B: I used Lion Brand Heartland in Katmai*
- Size I 5.5mm Crochet Hook*
- Yarn Needle* for weaving ends
- Scissors*

Abbreviations:
ch(s) – chain(s)
st(s) – stitch(es)
sk – skip
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
x-dc – Crossed Double Crochet
t-ch – turning chain
sp(s) – space(s)
RS – right side
WS – wrong side
() – indicates stitch counts at the end of the row
* – indicates instructions to be repeated
Gauge:
Approximately 4 sts = 1″
Finished Size:
Approximately 2.5″ in height
Special Stitches:
Crossed Double Crochet (x-dc) (see tutorial below):
- sk next st
- 1 dc in the next st
- 1 dc in the skipped st
Bobble Stitch (see tutorial below):
- Yarn over, insert hook into the indicated st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (2 loops on hook)
- Yarn over, insert hook into the same st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (3 loops on hook)
- Yarn over, insert hook into the same st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (4 loops on hook)
- Yarn over, insert hook into the same st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (5 loops on hook)
- Yarn over, insert hook into the same st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (6 loops on hook)
- Yarn over, pull through all 6 loops on hook.
Notes:
- This pattern is written in US terms
- All stitches are worked through both loops unless otherwise noted.
- All color changes are made in the last yarn over of the last stitch of the row.
- There are photo tutorials for the beginning of the first 3 rows below.
Instructions:
Starting with Color A (or continuing in same color from last section)
Row 13: Ch 3 (count as dc), work 1 dc into the first st (same st as ch-3), *sk the next 2 sts, [1 sc, 2 dc into next st]** Repeat from * to ** across until there are 2 sts remaining, sk the next st, 1 sc into the last st, turn. (165)
Row 14: Repeat Row 13, changing to Color B in the last yarn over of the last st.
Row 15: Ch 1, 1 sc in the first st, 1 sc in the next st, *ch 3, sk the next 2 sts, work 1 bobble st in next st, ch 3, sk 2 sts, 1 sc in next st** Repeat across until there is 1 st remaining, 1 sc in the last st, Change to Color A, turn. (27 bobbles, 30 sc, 54 ch sps) Note: If your bobbles are puffing up on the WS, make sure to push them through to the RS.
Row 16: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 1 dc in next st, *work 1 x-dc in the next 2 skipped sts from Row 14, 1 sc in the top of the bobble st, work 1 x-dc in the next 2 skipped sts from Row 14, 1 hdc into the top of the sc** Repeat from * to ** until there is 1 st remaining, 1 hdc in the last st, turn. (165)
Row 17: Ch 3 (count as dc), 1 dc in each st across, working last dc in the t-ch, change to Color B, turn. (165)
Row 18: Ch 3 (count as dc), 1 dc in each st across, working last dc in the t-ch, changing colors in last yarn over of last dc, turn. (165)
